With the completion of the European BIM4D project, coordinated by PEDMEDE, a Transnational Policy Report has been published — one of the project’s key strategic deliverables. The report consolidates and presents the main findings from national stakeholder roundtables held in Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Slovenia.
The report provides evidence-based insights into the current status, highlighting both barriers and emerging opportunities for the use of BIM in construction practices related to the end-of-life phase of buildings — including deconstruction, renovation, and material recovery. At the same time, it offers targeted policy recommendations to support the transition toward circular construction, promote digital traceability, and strengthen workforce skills development across Europe.
The BIM4D Transnational Policy Report represents a significant milestone for the project, making a substantial contribution to the broader European dialogue on circular construction, Digital Product Passports, and lifecycle information management.
