On 23 November, in the framework of the European Erasmus+ Pact4Youth programme, PEDMEDE in cooperation with U-studies organised a workshop on the attraction of young people in the Construction sector, inviting high level participants to the premises of PEDMEDE. The objective was to conduct an open dialogue and formulate strategic actions to attract young people to the Construction industry.
The participants had the opportunity to examine the current situation of the construction sector in our country, assessing the level of education and specialization of the staff. They also discussed the challenges and barriers faced in attracting young people to the Construction sector, examining possible solutions and measures and focused on the general picture of the Construction sector which admittedly needs to improve in order to become an employment option for the workforce and more specifically for young people.
The results of this consultation are expected to lead to concrete proposals that will boost youth employment in the construction sector, while improving the image of the most productive sector of the economy worldwide.
