A new High Level Construction Forum for the green and digital transitions

On 28/9 the European Commission launched the new High Level Construction Forum (HLCF). As a follow up of the previous “Construction 2020” initiative, the aim of this new HLCF is to define a roadmap for the construction eco-system towards the green and digital transitions by means of a dialogue between the European Commission and the main actors of the eco-system, including FIEC.
The HLCF will work with the support of 3 Clusters, on Environment,  Digitalisation and  Resilience.
The timetable for the definition of the roadmap is quite ambitious. It anticipates the first Cluster meetings in October 2021, a draft roadmap to be discussed in the first semester of 2022 and approved of the roadmap in the second half of 2022.
The stakes are extremely high and therefore the involvement of FIEC and all its member federations will be of crucial importance..

FIEC and EFBWW to address digital solutions for social security

On 13 October, the social partners of the European construction industry, EFBWW and FIEC, will organise a public discussion (online) on the European Parliament’s report on a European Social Security Number and a European Personal Labour Card. This discussion, entitled Towards digital enforcement for the construction industry? aims at getting a better picture of what the challenges are to digitally enforce a level-playing field for construction companies, as well as labour rights for workers; and how EU initiatives could help in a cross-border context.
