The European project DISCOVER, in which PEDMEDE participates, will take part in the European Robotics Forum (ERF) 2026, which will be held on 24 March 2026 in Stavanger, Norway.
As part of the thematic session “From Perception to Action”, a representative from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) will present the project and demonstrate how robotics and artificial intelligence can contribute to more efficient and sustainable practices in the construction sector.
The session is organised in collaboration with other European projects that are developing innovative applications of robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation in the construction industry.
The DISCOVER project aims to develop a comprehensive solution for sustainability in the construction sector, through the use of autonomous and synchronized robotic systems for the analysis, identification, and digitalisation of materials and construction elements from existing buildings. At the same time, it develops an integrated digital framework for processing and visualising data, leveraging digital twin and BIM technologies, with the goal of improving deconstruction processes, enhancing the reuse and recycling of materials, and providing an overall assessment of the sustainability of demolition practices.
