On 11-12 February the kick-off meeting of the European Construction Blueprint II project, in which PEDMEDE participates, took place. The project partners had the opportunity to meet at the premises of the FLC (Fundación Laboral de la Construcción) in Madrid, which is the project coordinator. During the meeting, the project’s Work Packages were discussed, followed by a tour of the FLC’s facilities, giving participants the opportunity to learn more about the process of training human resources in the construction sector. At the same time, the meeting was attended by representatives from the European Commission, both from DG GROW , and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
The aim of the project is to develop new strategic approaches and partnerships to enhance skills in the construction sector. The implementation of the previous project, Construction Blueprint, highlighted the urgent need to upgrade and update existing education and training programmes, in order for the sector’s workforce to develop the new and emerging skills needed to meet the challenges of the EU in the 21st century.
