The Kick off meeting of the European Pact4Youth Programme was successfully took place in Madrid. The meeting was held with the participation of PEDMEDE on 7 and 8 March and during the meeting the partners were laid for the first steps of the implementation of the project. On the 1st day the meeting was hosted by the Spanish Federation (CNC) and on the 2nd day the partners were hosted by the FLC where they were guided through the facilities of the Training Centre.
In particular, the partners will work on the following outputs over a two-year time horizon:
Map and action plan on youth employability
Mediation services and accompanying measures
Signing of cooperation agreements between SMEs and training centres for the implementation of work based learning programmes
Practical training days to increase young people’s interest in the manufacturing sector
Increasing the participation of SMEs in learning processes
Awareness, communication and dissemination campaigns targeting SMEs and young people
Adherence to the Pact for Skills
The project partners come from Spain (CNC, FLC), Italy (Ance, Formedil), Greece (PEDMEDE, U Studies) and Cyprus (OSEOK, KEPO). The countries involved in the project share common challenges in relation to the manufacturing sector, in particular regarding the lack of skilled labour, the shortage of young workers and women and the high youth unemployment rates at national level.
