In February, FIEC published its official position on Fair Labour Mobility, highlighting key priorities for the proper functioning of the European construction labour market.
FIEC’s position, stresses the need for more effective enforcement of existing rules in order to address unfair competition, fraud, and undeclared work. It also underlines the importance of using digital tools and systems, such as the European Social Security Pass (ESSPASS), to improve transparency and coordination among EU Member States.
Finally, FIEC emphasizes the need for better information for companies operating across borders, as well as measures to address labour and skills shortages in the construction sector, which remain one of the most significant challenges for the coming years.
