Negative impact of Covid-19 on the construction industry:
3 urgent measures requested immediately

 

The Covid-19 pandemic is a public health emergency, which is severely impacting economic activity in all the Member States.

Immediate action by the EU Commission is needed to ensure that Covid-19 is considered a force majeure, to eliminate penalties for companies that have to suspend work; and to increase European funds to cover the increased costs of the work.

This FIEC message has been sent to the European Commission with our requests to support the Construction sector.

New President for our French member FFB

On 20/3/2020 Olivier Salleron was elected President of our French member FFB (Fédération Française du Bâtiment).He will succeed Jacques Chanut, President since 2014 and will take office on 12 June 2020.

Olivier Salleron, 52 years old, is Chairman of the heating, air conditioning and plumbing company SALLERON SAS in Périgueux (France). He is currently Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Social Commission of the FFB, as well as Chairman of the regional federation of Nouvelle Aquitaine.

FIEC wishes all the best to Olivier Salleron and is looking forward to continuing with him the longstanding constructive cooperation with FFB.
