Digitalisation of Construction SMEs: new training opportunities

 

The European Commission’s project on digitalisation of construction SMEs has updated its training offer. These short, online and free sessions will be available only until April 2023.

You can sign up for the topics of your interest and the dates of your preference by checking our updated training calendar at this link.

The training sessions cover topics from strategy building, culture and process integration as well as how specific digital technologies such as BIM or 3D printing can support construction SMEs in design, engineering, construction, renovation, operation and maintenance. Training sessions will last no longer than 120 minutes. Not only SMEs, but also intermediaries are now allowed to join so they can learn more about how they can support construction SMEs in their network.

Construction Blueprint – Final dissemination event

 

FIEC, EBC (European Builders Confederation) and EFBWW (European Federation of Building and Wood Workers) are organising the final event of the Construction Blueprint for Skills project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.

Three roundtables dedicated to skills for Digitalisation, Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy will present  and discuss the main outcomes of the project. In addition, a specific session will be dedicated to the Pact for Skills in Construction.

The event will take place on Wednesday 22 February 2023, from 09.30 to 13.00 (CET), in Brussels and online. Interpretation will be available in English, French and Spanish. Draft agenda can be found here.

Launch of MOBICCON-PRO project

 

Representatives fromnthe ten partners’ organisations gathered in Sofia on 17 January 2023 to kick-off a new EU-funded project, MOBICCON-PRO.

The MOBICCON-PRO project, led by the largest construction corporate group in Bulgaria, Glavbolgarstroy Holding AD,  aims at developing and demonstrating innovative circular solutions to recover resources from construction and demolition waste (CDW).

The project will also strengthen the cooperation between private, public and scientific key stakeholders through the establishment of a Territorial circular centre in Sofia, while an experimental municipal level testing of the circular solutions will aim at demonstrating the sustainability of the concept at local level.

First €3 billion of MFA+ package given to Ukraine

On 17 January 2023, the European Commission disbursed a first instalment of €3 billion of the up to €18 billion Macro-financial Assistance+ package for Ukraine. This follows the swift adoption and entry into force of the MFA+ Regulation mid-December 2022.This instrument will allow Ukraine to maintain essential public services running, ensure macroeconomic stability and restore critical infrastructure destroyed by Russia in its war of aggression, such as energy infrastructure, water systems, transport networks, roads and bridges.

Future payments to Ukraine, under the MFA+ instrument of €1.5 billion per month, will continue as of March and will depend on satisfying the agreed conditionality and reporting requirements.

The “RECOVERY CONSTRUCTION FORUM” is a large-scale event dedicated to the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will take place in Warsaw on 15 February 2023 at the EXPO XXI congress center.
The purpose of the forum is to develop a network between the construction industries of the partner countries, in order to accelerate the recovery of Ukrainian affected communities.
