As we step into September, we are pleased to share with you the five strategic areas driving the future of the construction sector in the European Union, as identified through the Construction Blueprint 2 project in which PEDMEDE participates.
🔹 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 – Equipping workers with green skills to speed up the decarbonisation of Europe’s buildings by 2050.
🔹𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – Driving competitiveness and innovation in construction through EU programs, like EU Digital & Tech, #HorizonEurope of EU Science & Innovation, and the Pact for Skills of EU Employment and Skills, aiming at closing the digital gap.
🔹 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 & 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧– Training on recycling, sustainable design, use of bio-based materials, and safe demolition practices.
🔹 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 – Promoting leadership, creativity, project management, and client focus to strengthen resilience in facing today’s construction challenges.
🔹𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 – Improving training, work conditions, and sector image to appeal to youth, women, and migrants.
Each of these priority areas, plays a crucial role in supporting the transformation of the industry towards a more sustainable, digital, and resilient future.
Construction Blueprint 2 builds on the success of the initial project and continues the collective effort to develop a common European Sectoral Skills Strategy in the construction industry.
