Boosting the circular economy is a key element in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in sectors with a high environmental footprint, such as construction. Within this context, the European project Circular Transition, in which PEDMEDE participates, focuses on small, medium, and micro-enterprises, which constitute a significant part of the sector and are called upon to adapt to more sustainable practices.
Through targeted training and awareness-raising initiatives, the project highlights the role of the circular economy as a practical approach to improving material and resource management, reducing waste, and limiting emissions. At the same time, it aims to support businesses in understanding the regulatory and technological developments affecting the industry, thereby facilitating their first steps toward adaptation.
The project’s contribution is directly linked to key Sustainable Development Goals:
-
♻️ SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption & Production, through the promotion of efficient resource use.
-
🌱 SDG 13 – Climate Action, through emission reduction and the sector’s adaptation.
-
🏗️ SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, with an emphasis on more sustainable construction practices.
Through this connection, the Circular Transition project serves as a supportive tool for businesses, gradually contributing to the enhancement of sustainability in the construction sector, with a realistic approach toward the challenges of this transition.
📌 Stay tuned for the project’s upcoming activities and updates!
