European Commission soon to present revision of Machinery Directive

It is expected that the European Commission will present its proposal to revise the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) by the end of February or early March. In particular, it is expected that the European Commission will propose turning this Directive into a Regulation, and ensure that it is adapted to new digital trends.
This is a very important piece of legislation for FIEC, which has been participating in the preparatory work of the European Commission’s Experts Group on Machinery.
The latest detailed contribution from FIEC was sent to the European Commission in December 2020. Amongst many other technical issues, we highlighted the need for construction companies to be able to upgrade their machinery, whilst avoiding an administrative burden and related costs.

Series of webinars on the EU taxonomy

On 24 and 26 February, the European Commission and the Platform on Sustainable Finance will organise a series of webinars on the EU taxonomy. The events will be organised as five separate livestreamed webinars, each exploring a different aspect of the EU taxonomy. One of these webinars will offer an insight into the work process of the Platform on developing the EU taxonomy criteria for the remaining four environmental objectives (water, circular economy, pollution and biodiversity).

As a Member of the Platform we warmly recommend you to follow the different sessions.
