FIEC Position on the “Connecting Europe Facility” (CEF)

FIEC published its Position Paper (21/9/2018) regarding the Connecting Europe Facility, which is the key EU funding instrument to promote growth, jobs and competitiveness through targeted infrastructure investment at European level. FIEC approves maintaining a common funding framework for infrastructure in the future MFF (Multi-Financial Framework) 2021-2027. FIEC calls for a more ambitious budget – €30.6 billion in current prices-, and a clear earmarked budget for transport infrastructure.

FIEC is part of a winning consortium led by the Technical University of Berlin, after responding to a call for proposals under Horizon 2020, with other industry stakeholders and research partners.  The project will start later this year and will run for four years.  Tools will be developed to provide easy access for participating companies and a number of demonstration cases will enable the partners to showcase concrete results.  For further information, please contact the Technical Commission at FIEC.
