On 15 and 16 December the first live meeting of the Naturbuild project took place in Lisbon. The meeting was organised by the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology of Portugal and during the meeting the results of the research already carried out on green roofs were presented as well as the next steps regarding the research that is now being carried out in order to take shape of the Naturbuild training programme.
Also during the first day of the meeting a visit to Solar Building XXI, which is an example of a low-energy building in Portugal, took place. The main façade has a photovoltaic system with heat recovery that helps heating in winter, while in summer a ground cooling system is used, as well as night cooling strategies which were presented.
The NaturBuild project aims to provide training to equip workers with the skills needed to respond to market trends and European targets for green building and sustainability.
