Through the event international lectures, experts and keynote speakers shared their experiences and their countries perspective within BIM application and integration in construction works, both in the public and private sector. The uptake of BIM was reached in terms of applicability and use in the industry, as well as within the respect of the readiness of the working force and personnel to respond to BIM competence needs. In addition, good practices and BIM case studies were presented and promoted, offering lessons for learning.
Therefore, PEDMEDE presented the uptake of BIM state of play in Greek context providing input regarding the relevant institutional and political progress as well as concerning BIM maturity level of the construction industry, the SMEs and contractors of construction works. Last but not least, in the field of competence needs, PEDMEDE shared the experience gained through the project “Training and Certification of Employees in the Construction and Materials Industry”, coordinated by PEDMEDE in the framework of the O.P. Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020, aiming to develop professional capacity of 1.200 employees of the construction sector, through providing training and certification in the areas of BIM and Electronic Procurement for Public bids.
